okay so im removing ABS from my EL, i am a strong believer in ABS being useless! the cobalt doesnt have it, the Z24 didnt, none my car did so EL say bye bye.
now what i need help with is theres suppose to be a brake line you buy from honda that goes in the booster to loop something
trying to get the EL ready for MVI in April, and if it passes, i keep it. if not, trade it in on a truck

its not too complicated, the only problem is bended 4 new brake lines and you need to buy a dual proportioning valve ($176 from dealership, $30 on ebay).

All the orange plugs are part of the ABS system. Pull those out, the ABS computer unit is behind the passenger door on the wall next to the rear speaker on that side.

Next thing you have to do is pull the actual ABS unit. Get a 10mm flare nut wrench, bleed the brakes completely, and pull the six lines off of the ABS pump (passenger side of engine bay up front). Unbolt the ABS pump and remove it, there are 4 bolts at each corner.

Now to pull the lines out: Remove the 2 lines to the front brakes, unscrew them at the bracket where the line goes from hard line to soft line. Now remove the 2 lines that go to the master brake cylinder. Remove the last two lines that went to the ABS pump at the junction in the center of the firewall. Remove the junction from the firewall also, 3 bolts.

Now here's where the fun begins:

Get that dual proportioning valve and install it where the junction was with the 4 inlet side facing towards the passenger side of the car. Connect it to the rear brake lines on the side with 2 inlets. The forward two inlets go to the master brake cylinder and the rearward two inlets go to the front brakes.

You'll have to bend your own brake lines to the master cylinder and front brakes, but its not too difficult. You can save a lot of money by reusing the bolts off your old lines. You should be able to salvage 10-12 from all the ABS lines. Just chop the line a few inches from the bolt, grind down the cut end to a point and just slip the bolt out. I used a grinding wheel for this part.

I'm currently in the process of doing this so if you have any questions just ask me. I'll bookmark this thread. "
